Synod 2021-2023

The Holy Father, Pope Francis, wants to hear from you!

Pope Francis has opened a synod on journeying together as a Church and is asking for our participation.

What is a Synod?

A two-year process of listening and dialogue within each individual Diocese, Parish and Organization in the world. The goal of this Synod is to help the Catholic Church learn from our experiences and further it's mission here on Earth.

Synod 2021-2023 is an opportunity for Catholics to share with The Holy Father their experiences with the Church. The Synod is also open to non-Catholics, those from other Faith traditions, and the marginalized in our society. All are welcome to the Discussion Sessions that will be held at the Parish.

How do I participate in this Synod?

  • Attend one of the three Discussion Sessions hosted in the Parish Hall at Our Lady of Joy (see dates below).
  • Or Email your response to the discussion question, "In your lived experience, what have been your joys and sorrows in your journey with the Catholic Church?" to synod@oloj.org
  • Or each Ministry will be hosting Discussion Sessions within their groups. Look for a date from your Ministry Leader or contact your Ministry Leader for any questions.

Prepare for your Discussion Session by contemplating this question:

"In your lived experience, what have been your joys and sorrows in your journey with the Catholic  Church?"
