Solemnity of Pentecost
by Fr. Jess Ty | 06/08/2025 | Weekly ReflectionDear Family of God,
“The Love of God is poured forth into our hearts by the Holy Spirit” (Romans 5:5).
The Holy Spirit is poured forth into our hearts to help us live as Children of God and be free from sin. How do we know that we have experienced this kind of love? There is peace and joy that we cannot explain; it changes us; to become a person that God created us to be.
We are free from any fear, there is a new freedom that we have never experienced before; the freedom of realizing and living as a beloved child of God. We are eager and willing to share this good news with others without fear of being ridiculed or persecuted.
Embodying all the other gifts, as charity embraces all the other virtues, Wisdom is the most perfect of the gifts. Of wisdom it is written "all good things came to me with her, and innumerable riches through her hands." It is the gift of Wisdom that strengthens our faith, fortifies hope, perfects charity, and promotes the practice of virtue in the highest degree. Wisdom enlightens the mind to discern and relish things divine, in the appreciation of which earthly joys lose their savor, whilst the Cross of Christ yields a divine sweetness according to the words of the Savior: “Take up thy cross and follow me, for my yoke is sweet and my burden light.”
May we all be eager to rekindle the Love of the Holy Spirit in our soul through the help of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Spouse of the Holy Spirit.
Yours in Christ through Mary Immaculate.
