3rd Sunday of Easter

by Fr. Jess Ty  |  05/04/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Dear Family of God,

While in this world, we cannot but make a choice, for God or against God. The apostles chose God saying: “We must obey God rather than men... they left rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the Name.” (Acts 5:29,41).

When we decided to follow God and not the prince of this world, there are two things that happens to us:

First persecution or suffering but we are with God, he suffers with us, we are not alone.

The second is that we will have joy that only God can give, that the world cannot give and cannot take away from us. Not to choose God is a win-loss situation; you will win the world with comfort, pleasure and fame but you will loss life, your soul and end up in hell, eternal separation from God.

So, Brothers and sisters, Jesus is encouraging us to choose him, “Take courage, I have overcome the world.” Let us imitate the apostles and live our lives for Him, for we know he won’t abandon us, and we can say we our Psalmist: “I will praise you Lord, for you have rescued me.”

Yours in Christ through Mary Immaculate.
