January 17

I’d like to try a little experiment this week. I want to run a test and see how many of the people reading this little column I’d be willing to have a cup of coffee or a pastry with. Please answer the following ten questions:

  1. What religion are you?
  2. What political party are you registered under?
  3. Should mask-wearing be universally mandated or is it bowing down before an anti-religious cabal?
  4. Do you drive at or below the speed limit in the left hand lane?
  5. Are you an Apple or a PC household?
  6. Is pineapple pizza acceptable?
  7. Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?
  8. Pit Bull: misunderstood or face-eating monster?
  9. Are you vegan or are you happy?
  10. Do you eat the crust or are you spoiled?

I hope you answered every single one of those questions precisely the same as myself. You see, it seems in 2021 we are not allowed to engage with (much less befriend) people who disagree with us on ANY subject.

It is just not allowed. Those people are evil and are to be avoided.

Except for one small problem...

It becomes very difficult to be a light to the world, impossible to spread the Faith, and unrealistic to even attempt to be Christ’s Hands and Feet...when we lose our ability to love people and have calm, intelligent discussions about our beliefs and ideas.
