Today’s Readings: ACTS 11:19-26 PS 87:1-7, 43:3-4 JN 10:22-30

If you haven’t been watching our streaming Mass at 10AM on Sundays…first of all…DO IT…secondly…an important announcement was made. If you participate in the 10AM streaming Mass from home and you are healthy, our Bishop is allowing you to immediately hop in your car at its conclusion and come to church where one of our priests will be distributing the Eucharist from 11:15-Noon. You are encouraged to maintain a six foot distance from others before receiving on the hand (so the priest doesn’t have to disinfect between every communicant). This very temporary allowance keeps proximity to a minimum while making reception of the Blessed Sacrament possible. This is great news and shows us the end to this current situation is coming.

I know it has felt like an eternity since we gathered together for Mass. And I don’t know how much longer it will be before it happens. I’m just glad I have no part in making those decisions.

What I do know…is how quickly this life flies by.

Here is a sentence I never thought would appear on a parish website: think of a roll of toilet paper unraveling. The center speeds up with every rotation. I’ve come to realize that is most people’s perception of time. Every trip around the sun seems to go a bit faster than the one before.

This season where we have been kept from gathering together will be gone before we know it. We will gather around our Father’s table again. It won’t be long now.
