March 22

In this time of fear and panic, what perfect timing that this Sunday’s Psalm includes the words, “Even though I walk in the dark valley, I fear no evil; for you are at my side.”

And how timely and beautiful that this Sunday’s Gospel is about Jesus’ ability to heal!

I want to apologize for the how random the following thoughts will be, but we have a lot to cover.

Pray for the containment or eradication of this virus.

If you are on Facebook or Pinterest, follow the parish pages.

Visit the parish website often to get your weekly bulletin, updates, and the three Deacon Harold Mission talks will be up within a week.

Utilize Formed.org! Make sure to sign in as a member of a parish and identify it as Our Lady of Joy for free access. In this time of “Mass deprivation,” there is nowhere to start better than searching for “Lectio Eucharist.” You will find an incredible series by Dr. Brant Pitre on the Mass. I’ll continue to give occasional suggestions on our parish Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/OLOJCarefree.)

Masses can be found at:

If you are low risk, the church and our Adoration chapel remain open during regular hours until further notice.

And if you need anything—a private appointment for confession, prayer, conversation, more recommendations than I’m providing, anything… please reach out. Especially if you are high risk, we’ll even drop groceries at your doorstep. Your parish staff is still working hard for you.

On that note, our regular plate income will be virtually wiped out until this is over. If you are willing and able to make a generous donation or set up autopay on our website on the Giving page—we are really going to need it. We don’t know how long this is going to continue and we really enjoy serving you! Please help us to continue. Our Lady of Joy, pray for us!
